Since releasing ‘Surviving’ in 2019, Jimmy Eat World have released a handful of singles. Until now, ‘Something Loud’ and ‘Place Your Debts’ had been digital-only singles. However, the Arizona emo rockers will be packaging them up for a new 12″ collection called ‘Something(s) Loud’. It will also feature their new single, ‘Failure,’ alongside the quartet’s cover of Crooked Fingers’ ‘Call To Love’ (featuring Bethany Cosentino), an acoustic version of ‘Something Loud’ and TW Walsh’s remix of ‘Place Your Debts.’
‘Failure’ was recorded during the making of ‘Surviving,’ and like that album, is produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen and mixed by Ken Andrews. Opening with a distorted, fuzzy guitar, the track is reminiscent of 90s Weezer, but with Jim Adkins’ familiar, harmonious voice.
