Led by the husband and wife pairing of Sam and Kitty Ray, ‘Nude descending staircase headless’ is considered to be Teen Suicide‘s first proper studio album. It was produced by Mike Sapone (Taking Back Sunday, Oso Oso, Cymbals Eat Guitars). The album sees the duo trade their lofi process for a wider sound, resulting in an album that is described as an “aggressive, catchy, intimate, a truly sweeping rock album”.

Arm’s Length Share ‘Early Onset’ Video

As they prepare to kick off a UK headline tour this week, Arm’s Length have shared a video for their acoustic ballad, ‘Early Onset’.

The tour kicks off on February 5th in Southampton, before heading to London (6th), Manchester (7th), Glasgow (9th), Newcastle (10th), Liverpool (12th), Leeds (13th), Birmingham (14th) and Kingston (15th). They’ll be joined by KOYO, Ben Quad and Shoreline.

Atreyu Release New Single (‘Ego Death’)

Melodic hard rockers Atreyu have returned with a new track called ‘Ego Death’. It sees the Southern Californian band deliver a crushing but cathartic number, showcasing their heavy and hook-laden sound.

On the track, the band said “Sometimes a piece of you has to die in order for you to truly live. ‘Ego Death’ is peace.”

Varials Preview New Album with ‘The Hurt Chamber’

As they prepare to release their fourth album, ‘Where the Light Leaves’ on February 27th, Philadelphia outfit Varials have released another track from the album. ‘The Hurt Chamber’ sees the quartet lean into the melodic side of their gritty hardcore/metalcore sound.

“The Hurt Chamber is a song strictly about being addicted to a high that is inevitably difficult to break,” says vocalist Skyler Conder. “Whether that be love, drugs, or a certain type of situation, you become blind to what’s happening, all of the bad disappears because it always feels amazing. But it’s doing nothing but harming you throughout every time you become close to it. The ache becomes a salvation of sorts. You enter the hurt chamber and you never want to leave.”

WREX Debut New Track (‘Consume’)

Rising Brighton alt-rock duo, WREX have shared their new single, ‘Consume’. The commanding track proves to be a thought-provoking offering.

“A lot of people live their life trapped,” shared WREX vocalist/guitarist George Donoghue on the meaning behind ‘Consume’. “This is a loneliness that comes with not understanding yourself, and we seek to fill that void with behaviour that numbs our feelings and only puts more distance between yourself and the world.”
