Love Rarely Preview Debut Album with ‘Severed’
Leeds five-piece Love Rarely have shared a new single, ‘Severed’. It offers another exciting glimpse of their debut album ‘Pain Travels’, due 10th April on Big Scary Monsters.
Having recently toured with The Callous Daoboys, ‘Severed’ sees Love Rarely continue to build momentum. Capturing their use of angular guitars and emotional bursts, it’s delivered with infectious energy.
“Severed is an exploration of the emotions you feel when having to cut out an alcoholic and hostile family member,” says guitarist Dan Dewsnap. “Even though they brought so much pain, the relief is also tied in with a dash of guilt that you couldn’t help them change. It ruminates on the positives that draw you in and the negatives that pushed you away.”
Love Rarely will follow up the release with a London headline show in May, with a handful of festival dates in the summer.

Seahaven Share Self-Titled Album Details
On June 5th, Seahaven will return with their first album in six years. The self-titled effort will be released through Pure Noise Records.
The first track lifted from the record, ‘Midnight Hour,’ captures the tension between melancholy reflection and cathartic release. It’s an element that runs throughout the record.
For primarily songwriter Kyle Soto (vocals/guitar), the record was written quickly, having entered a “flow state” last spring. “Clearly, there’s been a lot going on in my life over the past couple of years that I’m sorting through,” Soto explains. “I wasn’t consciously trying to put it all into songs, but I’d sit down with a guitar to see what would happen, and I’d end up writing.”
Completed by guitarist Cody Christian, bassist Mike DeBartolo, and drummer Eric Findlay, ‘Seahaven’ aims to build on past releases “and rolls them into one.“It accurately represents our sound, so it felt fitting to have it serve as a statement that says, ‘This is the sound of the band,” says Soto.
Seahaven will return to the UK for the first time in 11 years next month to mark 15 years of ‘Winter Forever’.

The Meffs Announce New Album (‘Business’)
Essex punk duo The Meffs have revealed details their second album. ‘Business’ will be released on 11th September via FLG.
“Business is everything. It’s work, it’s war, it’s politics, it’s our health. Business is angry and ugly, it’s vulnerable, and it speaks for all of us,” says vocalist/guitarist Lily Hopkins. “I wanted to make an album that pins you to the wall from start to finish, and that’s what Business does.”
Undoubtedly, Hopkins and drummer Lewis Copsey don’t hold back, with the album promising to be their most politically charged. As a taster, they’ve shared the album’s title track. It proves to be a fuzzy and explosive punk number that the duo describe as “a love song”, and begs to be played loud.
“In life you’re told to be your ‘authentic self’, but only if your ‘authentic self’ fits a mould, only if your ‘authentic self’ is on brand,” Hopkins shares. “We’re not hard enough, but we’re not soft enough, we’re not queer enough, but we’re too queer, etc. We’re okay with that; we know who we are and we know what we stand for. ‘Business’ is a love song.”

Sans Froid Set to Release New Album (‘Back into the Womb’)
Bristol art rock quartet Sans Froid have announced their sophomore album. It’s called ‘Back into the Womb’ and will be released through Church Road Records on June 26th.
With a sound that jolts around soul, jazz, folk, progressive rock, math rock, and more, ‘Back into the Womb’ hints at Sans Froid becoming more expansive. It promises to pull in abstract and thought-provoking themes.
“Thematically, the songs all have metaphorical nudges toward patriarchal existence, blindly and internally manoeuvring overwhelming division and just trying to do the best you can with the crumbs you have,” the quartet shared. “We don’t ever set out to have themes, but this is what always seems to be the undercurrent in the end.”
The album announcement is joined by the release of its lead single, ‘The Exploiter of Art’. The track targets the music streaming culture while demonstrating Sans Froid’s versatile sound.
“The Exploiter of Art is mainly about how streaming has killed off any remaining respect that artists had for themselves / crowds and big bald idiots are reaping bare P instead. Also, musicians have to sell their souls and market themselves as “content” for very little payoff, like droplets of dopamine here ’n there but if you stop doing it, you’d probably die or something…”
