Exclusive Video: Hello Lazarus - When In Rome

Today we’re proud to premier the new video from Bristol rockers Hello Lazarus.

‘When In Rome’ is the first single from the bands sophomore release, ‘Moving Forward Over The Next Financial Quarter.’ The EP is set to be released on 29th April through Scylla Records and is the first in a trilogy of EP’s Hello Lazarus are planning to release this year.

Pre-order ‘Moving Forward Over The Next Financial Quarter’ here.

Hello Lazarus’ Adam Hooper had this to say about ‘When In Rome.’

“When in Rome was the first song we wrote after the release of our self titled EP last year, it was no easy writing process but as soon as we found the ending it all really seemed to come together. The song was written at the end of the summer of 2012 after we’d all had a pretty crazy summer touring and wild holidays away.

I always find it hard to talk about what lyrics are about as I prefer people to make of it what they will but if we could say it’s about anything it’s really about those wild nights out you’ve had where everything just seems to be getting beyond your control and it’s either you get buckled in and go along for the ride or get left by the way side. It’s about forgetting all logic and things you’d normally do. The line itself was inspired by a friend of mine who did something completely out of character but felt he could completely justify it with that single phrase. I remembered it and the next thing you knew at the end of the summer it was our new chorus.

Filming the video was a lot easier than the last time (4 hours in a launderette in Bristol is easier than 8 hours on a beach the weekend before Christmas!) though this time with myself and Sean wondering around in fox and horse’s heads we drew a lot of strange looks. We also had to buy a lot of people coffee’s in the very accommodating café next door for those that needed to do their washing (of course we let them put their spin wash on first). We were also very fortunate to have the lovely Ellie Richie agree to be in it who looks great and it was good to give Luke someone to bounce off.”

Track Guide & EP Stream: Come The Spring - Seven For A Secret

image

Today Brighton emo indie rock group Come The Spring release their debut EP, ‘Seven For A Secret’ on Engineer Records.

With former members of Rydell and My So Called Life, ‘Seven For A Secret’ sees Come The Spring channeling their influences (Hot Water Music, Jimmy Eat World, The Get Up Kids, Texas Is The Reason) and producing a superb and passionate post-hardcore record.

Already Heard has joined up with the band to stream ‘Seven For A Secret’ in full. On top of the band told us what each song is about in our latest “Track Guide” feature.

Conditions
Conditions is pretty much a self confession. It talks of being down, hiding away and shutting the door on the world. It also explains how after talking about my ‘condition’, things seem a lot brighter and easier to swallow so to speak.

Nothern Star
Northern Star is my message to my daughter. She lives 350 miles away. It refers to the journey to see her and how gruelling it is. The chorus sums up just how I feel about the situation.

Track Guide/Exclusive Song Stream: Hot Damn - Sleep Alone

image

We can’t get enough of South Wales’ Hot Damn at the moment. Their upcoming mini-album ‘Sleep Alone,’ a collection of confident, self-assured songs with a slight pop punk edge.

Due to be released on 26th March through We Are Triumphant, the quartet has teamed up with Already Heard to give us an insight into the release with this exclusive “Track Guide” feature.

In addition we’re also premiering a new song called ‘My Life In Your Eyes.’

Read on to find out more about ‘Sleep Alone’ and to exclusively stream ’My Life In Your Eyes.’

Sleep Alone is our third release and is easily our most honest record to date; it just identifies the problems we go through as individuals and just like any other band, we put these feelings into our lyrics and music. We are all still a bunch of young guys and really try and relate to our fans through the songs as we are pretty sure everyone has the same issues at some point in their lives.

We are extremely happy with the record and the way we have arranged the songs, we couldn’t be happier as a band right now and we are so proud of what we are about to put out.

Sincerity
This is the opening track to the record and its the shortest song we’ve ever made. It started off as an intro but quickly became a full band track after several melodies just came naturally to the track in the initial writing process. The track is really about just leaving something you love, its a mixture of regret and knowing you messed up but you’ve lost something you truly care about, living so far away from the person you care most about sucks and if you fuck up then you have no idea when its going to get fixed. We all contributed to the lyrics to this track as we all felt we had our own input in relation to the topic.

Exclusive Song Stream: Time Will Tell - Kelly Song (The Movielife Cover)

Once again Already Heard has joined up with our pals at Pacific Ridge Records. This time we’re streaming an exclusive track from the labels forthcoming tribute album to The Movielife.

The track we’ve been lucky enough to stream is Time Will Tell’s take of ‘Kelly Song.’

Chris from Time Will Tell explained why the South Plainfield, New Jersey band picked this particular Movielife song:

“What I can say about Kelly Song is that it’s our favorite Movielife song. We really tried to put our own twist on it, and give it a little bit of a mod rock/electronic feel while maintaining the Movielife energy that everyone loved about them. The whole song has a dark feel to it, so at the end we decided to brighten things up. With our ending it almost feels like the song kind of ends with the guy telling the girl she messed up, and that she was wrong. Except now he’s accepting that he was fooled and Kelly has to live with that.”

‘A Tribute to The Movielife’ is released on 11th December on Pacific Ridge Records.
