Exclusive Song Premier: Life On The Sideline - Surround

Today’s second exclusive comes from US alternative pop-punk band Life On The Sideline. The Granby, Connecticut quartet are set to release their new full-length, 'Honesty Is A Dying Breed' on 22nd April through Take This To Heart Records and today the band are teaming up with Already Heard to premier the track - 'Surround'.

Much like the album itself, 'Surround' is a self-reflective number that is reminiscent of bands such as Transit, The Early November and Brand New.

Vocalist Nick DiCiancia shared these comments about 'Surround':

"When I was in high school I looked up to a group of kids I deemed in my mind as “cool”. Something about their cookie cutter group of friends stuck with me as admirable for reasons I am still unaware of. These people I once strived to be like is what 'Surround' is all about.

I think a lot of my idolization was based around the fact that I didn’t know who I was. The small amount I did know about myself at the time I hated. 'Honesty Is A Dying Breed' is about being honest with yourself and making the best of who you are. Not who your friends are, not who your parents want you to be, but who you are. You have the freedom to do whatever you want with your life, the only person who will ever prevent you from that is yourself.”

For Fans Of: The Early November, Brand New, Transit and Citizen.

'Honesty Is A Dying Breed' by Life On The Sideline is released on 22nd April on Take This To Heart Records.

Exclusive Album Stream & Track Guide: Echoes - The Pursuit

Today we’re proud to be premiering the new album from UK post-metal five-piece Echoes. 'The Pursuit' is set to be released this coming Monday (March 24th) and sees Echoes produce a complex, expansive and emotionally-driven slices of post-hardcore.

For Fans Of: Mogwai, Cult of Luna, Explosions in the Sky, Devil Sold His Soul

With the album producing such heart wrenching angst and despair, the Winchester band have also given us a track-by-track to give us an insight into what 'The Pursuit' is all about.

Empty Lungs
This track relates to new beginnings and a fresh start. It is about looking at yourself and wanting to instigate a positive change.

Leaving None Behind
This was the first track we wrote for the album and at that point we weren’t sure about what message we wanted to project as a band. This, in turn, stands out from the rest of the tracks lyrically. It is about being in a bad place in your life and having no will to go on.

Already Heard Video Exclusive: A World Defined - Brothers

On March 24th Derby post-hardcore five-piece A World Defined release their new mini-album 'In Absence’. The release sees A World Defined becoming a more cohesive unit with 'In Absence' resulting a collection of passionate and refreshingly honest post-hardcore.

To give fans a preview of the mini-album, Already Heard has landed the video premier for the first single 'Brothers'. Check out the exclusive first play of the 'Brothers' above.

This is what A World Defined had to say about the track:

"Brothers was the second song wrote for ‘In Absence’ and probably where everything started to take shape. We love play this song live, it’s probably our favourite! This is going to be the first single from the record. The song is all about the meaning, brothers. The Chorus is full of energy and again we tried to create hooks both vocally and musically. The drums definitely run this song and we concentrated a lot on the writing of the guitars and bass, so that sections built up and dropped out at the right times. The song ends on a powerful note and with the use of some electronics and samples this was written to be a strong climax. Vocally the song is about what friends can do for each other, no dream is too big and if you stick and work together; anything can happen."

'In Absence' by A World Defined is released on 24th March.

Exclusive Song Premier: August Premier - See You At The Bottom

On February 18th Chicago pop-punk band August Premier will release their new EP - 'Rebel Without Applause'.

With lead guitarist Mikey Chiero taking over longtime member Danny Halminiak, the revitalised quartet have polished up their sound on 'Rebel Without Applause' and sees August Premier combining their raw style with a more finely tuned and focused approach.

To give you a preview of whats to come, we’ve teamed up with Pacific Ridge Records to premier closing track, 'See You At The Bottom'.

Guitarist/Vocalist Chris Rogner spoke to us in more detail about 'See You At The Bottom':

That last track is basically about feeling like you have no control over anything. It was written after getting off the phone with someone I hadn’t talked to in a long time. As great as it was hearing from them, when the conversation ended it felt like it was for good. There would be no more conversations. You start to wonder what it was all for. Is this how easy it is for a relationship to end? After all that time you find yourself on a couch at 3 am and you can’t even taste the whiskey in your drink anymore. So you think the only thing you can do is to make them stronger. Sometimes there are things beyond your control and it’ll drive you insane, and sometimes you just don’t know how to deal with that. Sometimes you write a song about it.

Even though that song wasn’t about the same relationship as the rest of the album, I thought the lyrics fit the theme and style of the rest of the songs. We never really write melodically sad sounding songs…usually our happy-go-lucky melodies sort of mask the lyrical content. I thought…why not try our hand at something a little different for us?

'Rebel Without Applause' by August Premier is released on 18th February through Pacific Ridge Records.
