#NewMusicFriday: October 17th 2025

NewMusicFriday October 17th

It’s another busy week of #NewMusicFriday releases. Besides returns from Militarie GunAll Time LowBiohazard, and Tame Impala. There’s also a handful of anniversaries on show as Fall Out Boy, The Wonder Years, and Imogen Heap celebrate landmark records. The Subways are also in a celebratory mood as ‘When I’m With You’ marks their 20th anniversary.

For something more grand and hefty, power metallers Sabaton go all out, as always, with their eleventh album, ‘Legends’. If that’s not enough power metal for you, there’s always ‘Steelbound’ by Battle Beast.

There is a handful of noteworthy emerging and underground names that deserve your attention. Buffalo, New York’s Spaced leave their mark with their blistering brand of bruising hardcore on ‘No Escape’. A bit closer to home, Brighton is the home of two acts highlighted this week. First of all, Eville deliver a fair amount of breakdown and hooks with their contagious debut EP, ‘Brat Metal‘. Meanwhile, ‘Paper Street’ by H_ngm_n sees the emo/pop-punk duo pay off a decade-long collaboration. Filled with impassioned hooks and an abundance of energy, it isn’t one to ignore.

Likewise, post-metal outfit IAN craft compelling post-rock textures with dense metallic riffs on ‘Come On Everybody, Let’s Do Nothing!’ Having become friends as part of Exeter’s early ’00s DIY punk scene, the reconnected quintet known as IAN treat their debut album as a labour of love. It results in an emotive record, as it is destructive.

Elsewhere, Camp Cope bid farewell with a live recording of their final show at the iconic Sydney Opera House. You can hear new music from rap-rockers Silly Goose, and Britpop x shoegaze revivalists Dear Boy, along with releases from Of Monsters And MenSkegss, Good Luck, and many more.

As a bonus, we’ve listed every special release from tomorrow’s National Album Day. With this year’s theme celebrating all things rock, October 18th will see limited vinyl releases of albums from Architects, Avenged Sevenfold, Ghost, Good Charlotte, Queen, and more.
