Seahaven Previews New Album with ‘February Flowers’
Having shared plans to release a self-titled album last month, Seahaven continue to tease the album ahead of its June 5th release with a new single.
‘February Flowers’ highlights the Californian’s emotional side, serving as a tale of an exhausting relationship, one that weighs the narrator down. It’s aided by glistening guitars and a soaring melody.
Seahaven will return to the UK for the first time in 11 years next month to mark 15 years of ‘Winter Forever’.

Brightr Drops AA Single (‘Pob Lwc’)
“Gloom-pop” troubadour Brightr has released a double A-Side single. Available through Sugar-Free Records, ‘Pob Lwc’ consists of two tracks; ‘Stay Home, Keep Warm’ and ‘I hope Julien is ok’.
The former is an intimate, twiddly offering aided by Brightr‘s (aka Laurie Cottingham) bold, warm vocals. “Stay Home, Keep Warm focuses on the idea of family, on the illusion of safety created by a ‘home’ wherever and whatever that might be for someone” says Cottingham. “It also touches on the brutal reality of depression and anxiety, the chokehold that threatens to restrict a person’s identity and dim their spark.”
The second track, ‘I hope Julien is ok,’ is described as “simply an understanding that the vulnerable beauty of someone else’s brilliant art can have such a defining impact. It’s a delicate number with intricate acoustic guitars, elevated by atmospheric harmonies. Discussing the track, Cottingham adds that the track is about “That the connection felt with an artist can be so intense and that the debt of sadness and regrets can feel forever unpaid, lonely even, navigating a life where no one can ever truly understand your personal pain.”.
With the AA single’s title, ‘Pob Lwc’, being Welsh for good luck, Cottingham considers both tracks to be a “personal purge for myself” before adding that they’re “a reminder that it’s ok not to feel ok for a bit, just as long as you don’t do it alone.”
‘Pob Lwc’ follows Brightr‘s latest album, ‘Year Two,’ which was released last year.
Fortune Teller Share New Single (‘Lucid State’)
South Wales quintet Fortune Teller have returned with their latest single. Titled ‘Lucid State,’ it sees the emerging pop-punk group showcase an emotional side with ringing guitars and an impassioned, soaring chorus.
“‘Lucid State’ marks a shift for us both sonically and thematically. While still rooted in our pop-punk foundations, we leaned into softer elements and more vulnerable moments to explore something deeper than we have before,” Fortune Teller explained. “It follows Mason’s (Meacham – lead vocals) journey of unexpectedly finding a real connection after a period of self-healing, capturing the feeling of stepping into something new that feels almost dreamlike, and not wanting to let it go.”
Fortune Teller released their debut EP, ‘Premonitions,’ in 2024 and followed it up with two singles (‘Nothing Left To Say’ and ‘How To Cope’) last year.
Afterlife Joins Mascot Records and Shares New Single
Florida metalcore crew Afterlife have inked a deal with Mascot Records. To mark the news, they’ve released a track called ‘Bad Habits’. It sees the quartet deliver a sharp and energetic track that blends metalcore riffs with hints of nu-metal, hip-hop, and a towering chorus.
At its core, it’s a reflective and emotional cut that sees vocalist Tyler Levenson realise that his behaviour negatively impact those around him. “It captures the struggle between denial and self-awareness, ultimately becoming a cry for help. As people, we all struggle with life and the unfortunate circumstances it brings. Sometimes the ways we cope, the ways we ‘get by’ can become harmful, not only to ourselves but to those around us,” explains Afterlife‘s frontman. He continues, “One of my favorite deliveries in the song takes place in Verse Two, where I intensely describe my battle with denial: ‘Then I put a fake face on, ’cause I’m headed to a place that I gotta get away from / Can you help me get away from all the pain, the doubt, the fear that traps me here?’ The song is a perfect description of how I was feeling on a day-to-day basis at various points in my life.”
