AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been charged with attempting to procure murders. The 60 year old appeared in court in Tauranga, New Zealand earlier today. He was also charged with threatening to kill, possession of methamphetamine and possession of cannabis.

According to various sources, Rudd attempted no plea on the charges and is free on bail until November 27th.

AC/DC are set to release their new album, ‘Rock or Bust’ on December 1st, released the following statement:

“We’ve only become aware of Phil’s arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year”
