Hildamay have announced they have split up.
Vocalist Tim Lawrence released the following message:
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Hildamay is no more. We could feed you a load of crap about why we’ve decided to call it a day. Truth is, times change; as do tastes, friendships and desires. Fact is that pouring your heart and soul into something for so long can take its toll, and you all know that we were a band that thrived on the road.
With a slow down in touring over the last 12 months we were all able to take a step back and like a breath of fresh air our ideas concerning music started to change. That is the truth and the reason that we as musicians are all in different places right now and therefore moving forward onto pastures new.
We are extremely proud of what we have achieved in such a relatively short timeframe and to have been involved with some amazing bands, venues , shows and festivals along the way. Not to mention all the clothing companies, magazines, webzines, journalists, DJs and photographers that over the years have shown us so much love.
We wrote ‘Miles Away’ whilst on the road travelling the length and breadth of the country living out of a shitty van. The response that we received was completely unexpected and took us completely by surprise. It is an album that we had only ever dreamt of making and with the support of a great team at Wolf At Your Door, SGR Artist Management and Inception Press we were able to realise some lifelong dreams.
The real star of that show, however, was our sixth member Oz Craggs at Hidden Track Studios who at the helm pushed us beyond our comfort zones and what we ever thought we could do.
We will forever be indebted to those that gave us a shot and helped us realise our potential. And to anyone that bought a t shirt, our record or a ticket to see us live we will be forever grateful for supporting five lads chasing their dreams. We will be unveiling some new projects over the next few weeks, some of which you’ll have heard already and others you won’t have. We all remain hildamates and the bonds and memories that we have forged over the years will be life long.”
