UK supermarket giant Asda, owned by US giant Walmart, are rumored to be interested in purchasing trouble high street entertainment chain HMV.

The Telegraph reports Asda have held talks with administrators Deloitte and are interested in buying the HMV brand. 

Unlike rival supermarket chain Morrisons, who purchased six HMV stores last month, Asda would not be turning the shops into convenience stores.
