Bristol based pop-punk band Run From Robots are due to release their new EP. ‘Roads That Don’t Lead Home’ on 5th November. Produced by Matt O’Grady (Deaf Havana/You Me At Six) and contains four tracks of typical pop-punk. 

The EP starts off with ‘You Might Rumble But We’re Louder Than Thunder’ which offers some fast skate-punk styled drums and guitar. It’s full of energy and contains all the trademarks of a band being big fans of punk-rock. Things are going well until the vocals kick in; they sound awfully strained and are not really making any sort of impact on the song. 

Next up is ’Sleepless Days and Endless Nights’ it offers more of the same; fast guitars and drums with the addition of token gang vocals. Again the vocals are the weakest factor which is a shame because these guys can clearly write a decent pop-punk song. 

Lead single ‘This Bus is Damned’ takes a more relaxed approach to start with, allowing the drums to drive the song. It’s nothing too radical though and again is more of the same. It sounds an awful lot like fellow UK pop-punksters Me. Vs. Hero. 

Closing with ‘Assume This Song’s For You’ is again another rather formulaic approach to the pop-punk on offer. Let it be known we’re huge fans of the genre here at Already Heard but at least think outside the box. Again we’re treated to the works here; the fast parts, break downs, gang vocals and of course the fade out at the end.
