Welcome to another edition of Something For The Weekend. This week we have the Indie/Emo heroes Empire! Empire! I Was A Lonely Estate, garage punks Los Broncos and the gruff punkers Bear Trade.

We’ll be making some changes to SFTW soon but don’t worry, it’ll only make it even better than it is now. Until then, feel free to dive into this weeks selections and enjoy some beautifully free music.

If you’d like to be featured on “Something For The Weekend” or have some “local heroes” to be featured, send an e-mail to Richard (Richard@AlreadyHeard.com).

Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate)
For Fans Of: American Football, Death Cab for Cutie, and Mineral.
Whilst we tend to focus on new acts in Something For The Weekend, it’d be a shame to not talk about the excellent Empire! Empire! offering their entire discography for free for one week only! If you like jangly, experimental emo then you won’t be disappointed.

Bear Trade
For Fans Of: Latterman, Caves, and UK Punk Rock.
Bear Trade hail from the North East of England and features members of Pure Graft, Former Cell Mates and The Mercury League to name but a few. Their brand of punk rock isn’t particularly ground breaking but if you like any of the bands previously mentioned then there’s no reason you wouldn’t enjoy this.

Los Broncos
For Fans Of: Off With Their Heads and Motorhead.
Los Broncos are an Exeter based three piece making loud, no barrels held punky garage rock. They have a free to download demo up on Bandcamp and a four track sampler available in return for a donation at shows (which are definitely worth going to). It’s thrashy, messy and beautifully loud. I really dig it.
