This week on Something For The Weekend we celebrate the release of Pacer’s new album ‘Making Plans,’ check out some upcoming talent from Southampton and say goodbye to one of the UKs most promising emo bands.
If you think that your band should feature in an upcoming edition then don’t hesitate to drop me a line at Richard@AlreadyHeard.com or on Twitter.
Pacer
FFO: Iron Chic and Bouncing Souls
Pacer (featuring members of The Steal and Home Advantage) blew me away with their debut 10" ‘No 1’ before going quiet after a split with Iron Chic, and a couple of shows supporting skate-punk legends Bouncing Souls. Well now they’re back and to further reinforce this point, they have a complete album (‘Making Plans’) available for download on Bandcamp. Lovely.

D.E.A.D!
FFO: My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday
Despite forming at the beginning of 2012 D.E.A.D! have really made an impact on the Southampton scene. Their brand of heavy-pop-rock has already landed them support slots with Skindred and William Control which is quite amazing when they only have a one track demo available to win people over. D.E.A.D! are definitely a band to keep an eye on.Damned Restless Future by Dead

ManBearPig
FFO: Pianos Become The Teeth and Brand New
Manbearpig recently announced that they are calling it a day but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check out their discography whilst it’s still available. Heavy, melodic and full of emotion, Manbearpig could have been one of the UK’s emo heavyweights if they didn’t split. It sounds like the members already have other bands lined up, so be assured that such talent will not go to waste.
