Last week Southampton five-piece Five Miles North Of Nowhere revealed plans to release a new EP called ‘Less Talk, More, Action’, on October 30th. Today Already Heard has the exclusive first play of their new video for ‘A Slice of Fried Gold’.

Taking their cues from riotous bands like Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats and Gallows, ‘A Slice of Fried Gold’ thrives with swagger with monstrous riffs and fierce vocals. Whilst the video, produced by Gingerdope Photography, compliments 5MNON’s frenzied style.

Dave Parker from the band had this to say about the track and video:

“After the best part of a year we’re happy to finally be releasing new music. We’ve spent a great deal of time thinking what we want this band to sound like and how it would be to best to convey what we do. Collectively we thought ‘A Slice of Fried Gold’ would be the best track to release as the first single because it sums what we’re trying to achieve whilst simultaneously not giving too much away. Even though we class what we do as punk, I think there is a great deal of dynamism in our collective sound.

We initially contacted Martyna Wisniewska after seeing the work she did Grove Street Families, Creeper and Milk Teeth. We loved the way she captured action and the overall composition of her videos. The initial concept of the video completely evolved on the day of the shoot. Compared to the standard performance video we were going to do, we decided it would be much more interesting to film it as though it was one continuous shot around Martyna’s House.

We’re absolutely thrilled to finally putting this as it has been forever since we released any new material. Hopefully next time we won’t take so long!”
