"It is with the heaviest of hearts and deepest regrets that we must say goodbye to a dear friend. Although we had recently parted ways it makes the reality no easier to bear. Every wild ride must come to an end so rest in peace Robert Mcallister and give our regards to Lemmy. We’ll miss you always.”
Throughout their forthcoming UK tour, Cancer Bats frontman Liam Cormier will be raising money for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. On January 22nd at the O2 Academy 2 in Birmingham, Cormier will shave his head in support of the cause. Further info can be found here.
Avenged Sevenfold have exercised their right under California law to leave their label – Warner Bros. Records. The band are utilising the “seven year rule” of the California Labor Code which allows artists the ability to leave personal service contracts under certain circumstances after seven years have passed. However Warner Bros. Records has filed a breach-of-contract suit. The label claims that they’ve invested money in the band’s future, as well as financing a live CD/DVD, so the band’s opt out is unfair and breaches good-faith and fair dealings. In good news, Avenged Sevenfold are currently writing a new album and hope to have it released by the end of 2016.
