Earlier this year, Dream State made their return with a new line-up. Having released a couple of singles in between numerous festival and support slots, the quartet have now shared details of a new EP
‘Still Dreaming’ will be released on 26th January 2024, and will consist of seven tracks including the title track which can be heard below.
On the making of the EP, the band commented; “We feel this is our best work to date, and we’re so excited for everyone to hear it! It felt like it came together naturally, with everyone collaborating in some way. We worked closely together to see if what we can bring to the table instrumentally/vocally can enhance the structure of the songs, using our own individual skillsets.”
The release will be the first EP with Jessie Powell on vocals. “This EP has been another way for Jessie to express her pent up emotions and release some of the negativity in her brain in a non-destructive way, to showcase how even when you’re at your lowest, or darkest point in life, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, and you can get through it,” Dream State explained.
The announcement of ‘Still Dreaming’ comes a year on from announcing the addition of Powell, bassist Jake Bowen, and drummer Tom Connolly. Reflecting on how close Dream State came to ending, the band said, “It’s quite emotional listening back to the record because there was a period where the band was so close to stopping altogether. We think this whole EP stands for not giving up and our perseverance. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we enjoyed making it!”

‘Still Dreaming’ Lyrics
I’m still dreaming
You destined me to fail
I’ll fight ‘til I prevail
You said It’s too late to salvage me
Your voice it haunted my once pleasant dreams
No longer a prisoner of the opinions you scream
Just ask yourself
Is this a dream or reality?
Is this a dream or reality?
I don’t care, it’s making me feel
So alive
Life’s too short to care
I like the way it feels so good
But I don’t care oh yeah, ‘cause I’m still dreaming
What’s not enough for you
Might be enough for me
Erased all my self doubt and finally broke free
Why can’t you let me be happy
Why can’t you let me be
I never met your standards
‘Cause I am only me
Is this a dream or reality?
I don’t care, it’s making me feel
So alive
Life’s too short to care
I like the way it feels so good
But I don’t care oh yeah, ‘cause I’m still dreaming
There’s no greater treasure than time
I’ve got one shot to make it mine
Just like a ghost you’ve been haunting me
My time has come so let me be
I’m still dreaming, I’m still dreaming
Woah oh oh
We’re still dreaming, we’re still dreaming
Woah woah
I’m still dreaming, I’m still dreaming
Woah oh oh
We’re still dreaming, we’re still dreaming
Woah woah
Is this a dream or reality?
I don’t care, it’s making me feel
So alive
Life’s too short to care
I like the way it feels so good
But I don’t care, oh yeah
‘Cause baby I’m still dreaming
And I’m feeling
Alive
‘Cause I’m still dreaming
I’m still dreaming
I’m still dreaming
I’m still dreaming
‘Cause I’m still dreaming
