Norwegian trio Flight Mode have joined the revived indie/emo label, Tiny Engines.

An EP trilogy collection called ‘The Three Times’ will be released in February, with the third of these, ‘Tøyen, ‘13’ also being released in the same month. Flight Mode‘s first two EP, ‘TX, ’98’, and ‘Torshov, ’05’ were released through Tiny Engines‘ sister label, sound as language, in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

The series of EP’s serves as a recollection of memories for frontman Sjur Lyseid. When explaining why 2013 was an unforgettable year,  Lyseid said, “I think ’13 would have to be chosen for its significance. The year my dad died. The year of my firstborn. Those two life-changing events (and I’m not using these words lightly here) were interseeded by a personal and interpersonal crisis of sorts, where everything I’d done, and been, in the years prior, came crashing down into the present. If my memory serves me well. But maybe it doesn’t.”

Since emerging out of Oslo, Norway, Flight Mode have been praised for their autobiographical brand of nostalgic emo, with clear comparisons to bands such as Death Cab For Cutie, Jimmy Eat World, and The Weakerthans.
