Balance and Composure continue to preview ‘with you in spirit’ ahead of its October 4th release. Having shared three songs from the record already, today the quintet have dropped a track called ‘any means’.

It sees vocalist Jon Simmons in an intensely self-reflective mood as he comes to grips with responsibilities, and contemplating his faith. It’s joined by serene guitars that create a haziness to Simmons’ thoughtful words.

‘with you in spirit’ is released on October 4th through Memory Music.

‘any means’ Lyrics

I forgave god for all his small catastrophes.
Must be feeling awful.
You startled me.
I waited for you to.
I shake all the trees when I fall apart then weep an ocean after all.

No control of your own whats the plot again?
Getting stoned to the bone downing sedatives?
Any cure. Any means. What it takes.
It’s time to compensate, don’t pay no mind.
No time to hesitate now where ya been?
I wanted everything that fell under the sun. I need your sympathy.
I need a friend of mine.
I wanted everything that fell under the sun.

I disown believe it or not.
There’s a part of me that I forgot.

No control of your own, what’s the plot again?
Getting stoned to the bone downing sedatives?
Any cure. Any means. What it takes.

Not as dull as you once said it is.
I want to see it through your eyes, I want the prize, I’ll let it die and then I’ll start again.
(I’m less sorry than before. Tears, we wipe them to the floor now).

It’s time to compensate, don’t pay no mind.
No time to hesitate now where ya been?
I wanted everything that fell under the sun. I need your sympathy.
I need a friend of mine.
I wanted everything that fell under the sun.
It’s time to compensate, I did my time.
I had some debts to pay for all your sins.
I wanted everything that fell under the sun.
