Fast-rising alt-rockers unpeople continue to prosper with the release of their new single – ‘The Garden’. It sees the quartet maintain their infectious style that we first heard on their self-titled EP earlier this year.
With its group harmonies and boisterous “da la da da” hook, it sees unpeople thoroughly thrive, even if the track “started off as a joke,” according to the band. However, they admit it was “a musical joke that we couldn’t stop singing for weeks on end.”
They go on to say the following on ‘the garden’; “Lyrically I wanted to keep it very simple and borderline surface level nonsensical. There is meaning but I’d rather leave that up to the listener to discern and interpret for themselves. Sometimes you want to get away from it all but simultaneously have a feeling of familiarity and a sense of security.”
In the coming weeks, unpeople will be playing shows with Hot Milk. They’re also set to join Sharptone Records labelmates, Vukovi, on tour next March.
