What is out on this #NewMusicFriday?
Take me to the Playlist
With Thanksgiving weekend happening Stateside, and Black Friday deals happening all over the place, today is considerably a quiet week for #NewMusicFriday releases. Besides the 20th anniversary release of Bullet For My Valentine‘s ‘The Poison’, this week’s round of releases allows underground and independent bands to take the spotlight.
My recommendation is the debut album from Sheffield metallers Hidden Mothers. Having come on to my radar at this year’s ArcTanGent Festival, their blend of atmosphere, shoegaze, and crushing heaviness makes for a compelling listen. They’re certainly a name that you’ll be hearing more of. Elsewhere, Out of Luv‘s provide a raucous and snappy set of songs on their ‘Tuff Luv’ EP, with some help from Alexisonfire, No Relief, and Dry Socket. Likewise, ‘Sweet Violence’ from London-based hardcore punks Chaos Reigns is a lyrical raw collection that tread the fine line between pain and pleasure.
There are releases from Oxford nu-metal debutants Arimea, Dutch post-hardcore rockers John Coffey, as well as music from Veil Of The Serpent, total tommy, The Discarded, and more.
