With the ArcTanGent Festival celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, they have gone all out today and delivered one of the biggest announcements ever. It sees over 50 acts be announced for the August gathering with Mogwai and Explosions In The Sky being announced as headliners, joining the previously announced Meshuggah.
Among the other names announced today are anonymous grindcore and jazz duo Clown Core, Norwegian multi instrumentalist Ihsahn, post-metallers Amenra, post-rock band Caspian, Japanese psych rockers Bo Ningen, and NYC hardcore crew Show Me The Body. While the festival is pulling from all corners of the globe, there is an abundance of UK names on board including stoner/doom metal band Electric Wizard, math-rock group Delta Sleep, and up and comming names such as Tokky Horror and Zetra.
Furthermore, because it is 10 years of ArcTanGent, they’ve roped in instrumental trio Brontide to reform for one show, where they will celebrate their second album, ‘Artery’. Whereas festival favourites, earthtone9, will also be appearing to mark the occasion.
“As we’re celebrating 10 years of ArcTanGent we made a list of the bands that have never played that we’ve always wanted to make it more special than ever, and naturally Mogwai were top of that list,” said Arctangent Festival organiser and booker James Scarlett .”We’re over the moon to also be bringing the likes of Electric Wizard and Clown Core to their first ever ATG. We weren’t lying when we said our 10th year is going to be the biggest ATG ever – it’s going to be biblical!”
