Genre-bending metallers As Everything Unfolds have returned with a track called ‘Set In Flow’. It’s also their first release on their new label home, Century Media.
The pulsating and futuristic track is “written directly from the perspective of a replicant/non-human,” says As Everything Unfolds vocalist Charlie Rolfe. “Starting off at the beginning of the song being told who/what they are: a carbon copy of another. Eventually, we follow them wanting to distance themselves from what they were, slowly becoming confident and comfortable in their uniqueness learning how to be human, even reflecting on their previous existence in anger, being kept in the dark about their unique consciousness.”
The Buckinghamshire-based band’s return comes as they prepare for an appearance at Manchester’s RADAR Festival on July 4th. It’s also the band’s first new music since the untimely passing of drummer Jamie Gowers last summer.
