North West group Boston Manor have shared their first new music of the year in the form of ‘Container’.

Delivered with a familiar urgency and raw emotion, ‘Container’ thrives with its sonic groove. Lyrically, it sees Boston Manor ruminate about getting a second chance. Lead singer Henry Cox explains it’s inspired by “the panic that sets in knowing you need to change your world before it’s too late and you get swallowed up and lost forever. It’s about the stagnancy of life creeping up on you and how that can bring about change.”

While Boston Manor‘s 2022 full-length, ‘Datura’, saw the band take a layered, cinematic, and dark turn, ‘Container’ indicates a more uplifting and reflective approach. Four albums into their career, Boston Manor seem to have realised the power and unity their music can bring. It’s a sentiment Cox agrees with, stating “I think it’s really important to write something that people can be immersed in and find some sort of solace in.”

Container’ Lyrics

Is anybody out there now?
Is anybody real?
So run to the back door and run til you’re new
And pull that loose thread that’s been bothering you
Don’t turn around and look away what ever you do

I just woke up like this
Container (leave it & run)
It’s taken everything
Container
Mass appeal
Can you feel with your face to the wall?
Left in the last in the dark away from it all

No oxygen in the ceiling
Nothing that’s left to believe in now
Nothing to believe in now

I just woke up like this Container (leave it & run)
It’s taken everything
Container
Don’t tell me who you are
Show me what you’re made of

Show me who you are
Show me what you’re made of
Show me who you are

I just woke up like this Container (leave it & run)
It’s taken everything
Container
