Emerging Connecticut / Pennsylvania-based post-hardcore band En Masse are preparing to release their new EP, ‘newviolenttrends’, on June 20th via Fever Ltd. With past single, ‘justthisonce’, recently being chosen as one of our ‘Songs of the Week’, the trio keep up the momentum with ‘taketwo’.
Riding on a moody and ethereal wave, En Masse soars with dynamic melodies complemented by a lush and atmospheric undertone. Lyrically, it explores themes of emotional detachment, disillusionment, and self-destruction.
Its accompanying video elevates the track’s uneasy undertone as it tells a story of mania and identity.
‘taketwo’ by En Masse Lyrics
These flashing lights are not here to save you
So make yourself as comfortable
The satisfaction of reaction
You’ve weaponized
You’ll never reach me
So come on over and stay
I’m never floating alone
In her hemisphere
The sad queen
All alone in her famous army
The drab king
Perched in his cage
Of his own devices
You’re such a statistic, skinny wrist
Waiting for the next line
Cigarette in between
Asphyxiate to feel
You’re climbing up the wall
Dead stars are falling from here
You’re climbing up the walls
I’m barely breathing, you see
Our love is not ripe enough
A desire to crash and burn with you
