Irish brother-sister duo Greywind don’t hold back on their new single – ‘I.K.A.M.F.’ (I Killed All My Friends).
Firmly planting their foot in bleak emo-rock territory, the track sticks a metaphorical middle finger at unwanted, toxic friends.
The track “is about finally getting rid of people who I thought were “friends”. It’s our revenge song,” says vocalist Steph O’Sullivan, who is one half of the duo alongside guitarist Paul O’Sullivan. Steph expands by saying it’s aimed at the people who didn’t support her music dreams. “There’s been too many times where I’ve kept friendships just because I felt like I had to or I was too scared to stand up for myself, but this song is the complete release of all of that built up hurt and rage. I know when they hear it they’ll know it’s about them, which makes me love the song even more.”
Flowing with a bold hook and big guitars, its release comes as Greywind prepare to return to the UK. They’ve announced a clutch of headline dates around their appearance at this month’s Slam Dunk Festival.
