Birmingham pop-rockers Kyoto Drive have announced that their guitarist Mike Levell will be leaving the band following their show in Wolverhampton on the December 15th.

Levelll released the following message:

“As I sit here and write this all down, I look back on the last four years of this band and all it has enabled me to do, not just as a musician but as a person! Being a part of KD from the beginning has seen me have some of the greatest & not so great times of my whole 26 years on this planet. This is why it is with a heavy heart that i announce my departure from Kyoto Drive! Travelling over 11 different countries in a van with four of my best friends, experiencing so many different cultures & playing music not only together but with some of our favourite bands is something I never thought id ever get the opportunity to do & being apart of this band has enabled me to do just that, which is something I will truly never forget. I personally feel that it is just the right time for me to move on (now that we have some down time) and begin a new chapter. We are all still the best of friends and i cant wait to see what is next for the band as I’m sure it will be something special! Id like to thank everyone involved with this band that has helped make my time so awesome (you know who you are) As well as all the great bands and people i have met along the way that i am proud to now call friends & more importantly Adam, Mark, Mitch & Chris! I am sure our paths will cross again at some stage in the future but for now, My last show with the guys will be Saturday December 15th in good old Wolverhampton at The Royal London (strange but true if you know the royal). I would love to see as many of you down there as possible as its only £3 in (Which means more money for BEER!!). So please do come down and help make this last show, another one for me to remember!! See you all very soon, its been a pleasure! MIKE xo”

Kyoto Drive’s latest release, ‘The Approach’ was released this past May through I Am Mighty Records.
