Rising Michigan outfit Liquid Mike are set to join The Wonder Years and The Menzingers on their US tour next week (I’m not jealous in the slightest…) To give gig-goers a glimpse of what to expect from the openers, the Marquette-based group has shared a new track called ‘Crop Circles’.

Led by former postal worker and vocalist/guitarist Mike Maple, Liquid Mike‘s latest offering is a promising slice of hooky power-pop with an indie-rock core.

Liquid Mike is completed by synth/horns/vocalist Monica Nelson, guitarist Dave Daignault, bassist Zack Alworden, and drummer Cody Marecek. Their latest full-length, ‘Paul Bunyan’s Slingshot’, received a deluxe release this past February.

‘Crop Circles’ Lyrics:

Crop circles in your brain you made when you were young
Right now don’t feel too great Bud
100,000 eyes roll over like a dog
You can’t outrun your fate
The house your father built once nailed to the ground
Just feels so watered down
You took his brother’s name he died when you were born
And you will die the same

Set ’em up knock ’em down
And then we’ll do it over
When you’re down light ’em up tonite
Run around, run around
You won’t find nothing better
When you’re down light ’em up tonite

Why do you feel so
Tell me why do you feel so
I feel so underwhelming
I feel so watered down
