New Orbit Culture Album Announced (‘Death Above Life’)

Orbit Culture

Ahead of their appearance at this weekend’s Download FestivalOrbit Culture have shared details of their new album. It’s called ‘Death Above Life’ and will be released through Century Media Records on October 3rd.

”The album represents change, a new beginning,” says Orbit Culture guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Niklas Karlsson, announcing the album. “It brings up a lot of good and bad emotions but it’s a big change for the better. It feels like a rebirth.”

The Swedish metallers have also dropped its title track. Proving to be an onslaught of thrash, death metal and industrial, ‘Death Above Life’ shows Orbit Culture‘s intent to, as they put it, kick “the doors wide open”.

“It’s darker, heavier, and leans into a more horror-driven side of Orbit Culture. Lyrically, it reflects a choice: when faced with the idea of continuing down a path surrounded by the wrong people, we sometimes know that we have to cut ties,” the band explain. “It is not literally about choosing death but walking away from what is holding us back. ‘Death Above Life’ is about letting go of what no longer fits to make space for something real. It will see the light of day for the very first time at Download Festival.”

‘Death Above Life’ will also feature the band’s previous single, ‘The Tales Of War’.

Orbit Culture will be playing on the Apex Stage at Download Festival this Sunday (June 15th) at 11am.
