Pleiades Preview New Album with ‘Universal’

Pleiades Band promo

Later this year, Manchester art-rock/post-hardcore outfit Pleiades will be releasing their new album, ‘Affinity With’. Today sees them share an impressive track called ‘Universal’.

With its tender, intricate opening, ‘Universal’ builds a cataclysmic conclusion, leaning on the quintet’s post-metal side.

“Universal was our chance on the album to take a breath and take the tempo down and write something that could be performed at a more conversational pace,” explained vocalist Andrew Calderbank. “Mewithoutyou being one of my big influences I look up to Aaron Weiss a lot and his exploration of his faith in such a unique way. The line ‘Will I get my universe?’ is asking questions about human ambition and knowing when to be satisfied and find gratitude in your accomplishments, to take a moment and be present.”

‘Affinity With’ is set to be released on Friday, September 29th. It is described as being “inspired by stories of empathy and human nature as Pleiades set out to be the sculptors of a bold new sonic landscape”.

‘Universal’ is the fifth track to be released from the album, following Looming,’ Stomach,’ Siberian,’ and Treppenwitz‘.
