Statement from Layby:
“It’s been whirlwind over at Layby HQ recently.
Aaron has received the greatest news he could have wished for and is finally starting a family with his partner and we couldn’t be happier for him!
However with this, it means that Aaron has had to depart the band. We owe a lot to Aaron for his work towards our EP, "Life’s Great Illusions”, and we will all surely miss him. It’s not all NEGI though as we’re not a Finnish Black Death metal band, we have some POSI AS F*CK news…
Please welcome: MILES KENT
We’re excited to welcome Miles into the Layby posse and we can’t wait to see where we go together. The EP is scheduled for release April 20th. We will be revealing more details soon.
We wish Aaron the best with his family life and his future musical endeavours, and there is no bad blood between us, and it was very much a mutual decision.“
Departing vocalist Aaron John Bowes also said:
"There’s some pretty strange feelings going on with me right now. In one hand I’m saying goodbye to a band I thought would always be a part of my life, and in the other is the most amazing and perfect thing that will ever happen to me. My girlfriend and I are expecting our first child! I didn’t want to hold the guys back or spend a lot of time away from my new born child, especially so early on. So it is best for both myself and everyone involved that I leave Layby. I hope you all love the new EP. We put a lot of heart into the songs. You’ll find nothing but honesty and passion in the lyrics and melodies that we wrote. I would like to thank the guys in Layby for being so awesome and inspiring. I will miss sharing a stage with you.”
