PRESIDENT Announce Debut Album (‘Blood Of Your Empire’)

After a meteoric rise over the past 12 months, President have revealed details of their debut album. It’s called ‘Blood Of Your Empire’ and will be released on September 4th via Atlantic Records.

On announcing the album, the band say the album was “born out of my own struggle with existential crisis and trying to make sense of belief, mortality, and humanity’s relationship with faith.” The masked frontman goes on to explain, “Religion has inspired incredible compassion, purpose, and beauty in the world — but it has also been responsible for unimaginable suffering and bloodshed throughout history. This album lives in the tension between those two truths. Writing it became a way for me to confront the fear, confusion, and questions I’ve carried for years, and turn them into something I’m truly proud of.”

‘Blood Of Your Empire’ will consist of 10 tracks. Among them will be their new single, ‘DOOM LOOP’. Opening up with bubbling synths and a sampled quote about time, it breaks into a djent metal-esque chorus. Overall, it’s a steely offering that neatly blends President‘s metal and electronic influences.

“The song is really about the strange tragedy of time — how we spend our lives chasing it, wasting it, and fearing it — only to realise its value once a moment is gone,” President says. “It’s a reminder for people to be present while they are actually living their lives, not just remembering them afterwards.”

The album will also include their previous single, ‘Mercy’. Whereas its artwork is a Eugène Delacroix painting, The Battle of Poitiers, which, consequently, hangs in the Louvre.

President will be playing the Slam Dunk Festival this weekend, before going out on a headline tour later this year. It will
