Converge Confirm 2nd Album Release of 2026 (‘Hum of Hurt’)
Just weeks on from releasing the impressive ‘Love Is Not Enough,’ hardcore titans Converge have revealed plans to release a second album this year. ‘Hum of Hurt’ will be released on June 5th through Deathwish/Epitaph.
In a press release detailing the album, Converge‘s Jacob Bannon explains ‘Hum of Hurt’ is “not a sequel” yet is just as volatile and potent. The record is the result of a wealth of material written.
“The unifying musical idea early on was, ‘Let’s make a noise rock album.’ But we never really did. The first one wasn’t. This one touches on that spirit, but it’s much more dynamic than that descriptor,” shares Bannon. “To me, it leans more into being an emotional hardcore album, while ‘Love Is Not Enough’ feels more metal leaning album. In the end, we simply gave creative birth to another Converge record with its own unique identity and character.”
‘Hum of Hurt’ was recorded and mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City in Salem, Massachusetts, with engineering assistance from Zach Weeks. Fans can view the music video for the title track below.
Converge will follow the release of ‘Hum of Hurt’ with an appearance at the Outbreak Festival in Manchester on June 27th.

Super Sometimes Tell ‘Make Up Stories’ Ahead of New Album Release
Having set a release date of May 15th for their new album, ‘Show the World What’s Underneath,’ So Cal pop-punk outfit Super Sometimes have shared a new single called ‘Make Up Stories’.
As a direct continuation to ‘Afterthought,’ it paints a picture of “the same person who mistreated you crawling back, trying to beg and manipulate their way back into your life,” explains the band. “Lyrically, this song was incredibly fun to write. We used the concepts of a court trial and a game of chess as analogies for a broken relationship.”
With its bouncy energy, shining harmonies, and entertaining music video, ‘Make Up Stories’ continues to show why Super Sometimes are one of pop-punk’s brightest prospects.
Commenting on the track, the trio said it “showcased significant growth in musicianship between the three of us,” the band continues. “It was more sophisticated than anything we had done before, and it truly opened our eyes—kicking the door down for us to go all in musically on this record.”
HAMMOK Previews New Album with ‘Gooning For Free’
Emerging Norwegian trio Hammok are preparing to release their new album, ‘When Does This Place Become Our Scene’, through Sargent House. Today, they’ve shared another preview of the record in the form of ‘Gooning For Free’.
It catches Hammok in a feral mood with Tobias Osland’s acidic vocal of “Feel it // grow it // got to feed desire // feel it // grow it // got to be desired.” It provides some melodic charm amid the track’s raucous energy and pummeling instrumentation.
TheBoyShadow Joins Roadrunner Records
UK newcomers TheBoyShadow have joined Roadrunner Records. The band has been in the works for four years, and includes former Loathe guitarist Connor Sweeney.
They’re set to make their live debut later this month at London’s Camden Assembly on April 6th.
As a taste of what to expect, you can hear their debut single. ‘Give Me A Seam & I’ll Show You The Meaning’ is a venomous and sonically raw number that demonstrates TheBoyShadow‘s intensity.
Telepathy and Jo Quail Team Up on ‘Home (Redux)’
Cinematic post-rockers Telepathy are preparing to release a new EP titled ‘Transmissions 2.0’. It will consist of reworked tracks from last year’s ‘Transmissions’ record. It will feature ‘Home (Redux)’ which sees London based cellist and composer Jo Quail re-imagine the track.
“We first discovered Jo’s music at Dunk Festival in 2018. We were literally stopped in our tracks by her performance,” says Telepathy. “Her music (at least to us) feels both organic and futuristic, cello meets live looping – so conceptually as we re-imagined our full band music into a more electronic space we felt she was the natural collaborator.”
‘Transmissions 2.0’ is released on June 12th via Pelagic Records.
