August Burns Red Announce New Album (‘Season Of Surrender’)
August Burns Red have announced their new album, ‘Season Of Surrender’, will be released on 5th June via Fearless Records. The band, who recently re-signed to the label, have shared lead single ‘The Nameless’ alongside the news. The record features guest appearances from The Devil Wears Prada’s Mike Hranica, Polaris’ Jamie Hails, and Make Them Suffer.
A sub-three-minute track, ‘The Nameless’ pulls ABR back to their core, showcasing dense, intricate rhythms, chugging guitar tones, and relentless vocals. “‘The Nameless’ is a hard-hitting, heavy bruiser that doesn’t let up for one moment. It combines classic ABR elements with dark moody technical rhythms, and fast-paced vocals to keep the intensity up for the full three minutes of the track,” explains bassist Dustin Davidson. “To me, it showcases our roots of where we’ve come from, and the future path of where we’re heading.”
On its lyrical content, vocalist Jake Luhrs shared “‘The Nameless’ is a song about not wasting your life away for the sake of acceptance and comfortability. Sometimes it takes detaching from what you’ve been told, or from the beliefs you are no longer aligned with, in order to face your own weaknesses. In doing so you can break free to live a life you are proud of.”

Against The Current Share New Single (‘Heavenly’)
Fresh from a run of sold-out shows marking their 15th anniversary, Against The Current have shared a new single titled ‘Heavenly’.
Besides its title, it sees the New York trio deliver a punchy slice of melodic pop-rock elevated by Chrissy Costanza’s reliable vocals.
“‘Heavenly’ is the realisation that the fall from grace is liberation. After balancing on a knife’s edge atop a pedestal others put you on, the moment of letting everyone down becomes the first gasp of fresh air after a lifetime of holding your breath,” says Chrissy Costanza.
It appears ‘Heavenly’ is the start of a new, ambitious chapter for Against The Current, with further new music and touring plans in the works.
WREX Set to Release New EP (‘Sadworld’)
Brighton-based duo WREX will release their new EP, ‘Sadworld’, on 20th May. The five-track release includes their new single, ‘Paranoia’.
It demonstrates the pair’s energetic brand of alt-rock, taking in elements of punk and nu-metal. As its title suggests, ‘Paranoia’ lyrically focuses on the idea of living inside your own head, with dominating, poisonous thoughts.
Vocalist Mae Seaton delivers the track’s central unease; “It’s like everybody’s always looking at me and the voices in my head, they won’t stop. I know I find it hard to maintain a sane brain / But it’s hard to believe that you could be so cold, so cold.” Guitarist and vocalist George Donoghue adds that the song was written in reverse, working outwards from its closing lyric: “Don’t try to save me, just pull the cord.”
Dark themes of uncertainty, anxiety, and self-doubt run throughout ‘Sadworld’, though glimmers of hopefulness are threaded in among them. “This EP is about taking our personal experiences and opening them up in a way that other people can identify with,” states Mae. “Our prior writing was very focused on the self; SADWORLD is more of a reflection on the impact of the world in its current state, and on the community”.
The Last Vinci Preview New Album with ‘Better to Never Know’
Cork heavy alternative trio The Last Vinci are preparing to release their new album, ’15 Minutes at a Time’, next month. They’ve shared a third single in the form of ‘Better to Never Know’
Led by its big fuzzy riff and urgent drum work, it’s a favourable teaser of what to expect from ’15 Minutes at a Time’.
“‘Better to Never Know’ captures the idea that many of us live as if we’re stuck on a wheel, safe, repetitive, and unaware of what we’re missing,” comments vocalist/guitarist Alex Alex Vinci. “The song imagines the moment that illusion breaks, and the thought that maybe it’s better not to realise how beautiful life could be, because then you’d have to face how much of it you’ve already lost.”
The Last Vinci will head out on a UK tour in May, alongside Terminals. ’15 Minutes at a Time’ will be released on April 17th via Narrow Door Records.
