As they kick off their UK tonight in Glasgow, The Gaslight Anthem have announced they will be releasing a new EP this Friday (March 22nd). ‘History Books – Short Stories’ will be made up of four tracks, and will include acoustic versions of ‘Positive Charge’ and the title track from last year’s ‘History Books’ full-length. It’ll also feature a reworked version of long-time fan-favourite ‘Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts’ and a cover of Billie Eilish‘s ‘Ocean Eyes.

On how the cover came to fruition, The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon commented:

“I was driving my daughter to school and she played it for me on the way and I really took to the song, Then one day we were talking ideas for a cover with our friends and I said, wouldn’t it be cool to do a heavier version of ‘Ocean Eyes’? I tried it out and everybody loved the idea.”

The original version of ‘Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts’ appeared on 2008’s ‘Señor and the Queen’ EP, and can be heard below.
