Newport, Wales’ The Nightmares are just days away from releasing their second album, ‘Fire In Heaven’. As a final teaser, the quintet have shared a track called ‘Letting It All Go’. Considered to be a song about “rolling the dice and taking a chance on yourself”, it’s a melancholy number with Eleanor Coburn’s bouncy keys clashing with The Nightmares‘ goth-tinged brand of emo. Furthermore, it’s a superb example of duel vocal work that Coburn and Adam Parslow share throughout ‘Fire In Heaven’.
Commenting on the song, Parslow shared ‘Letting It All Go’ is “a song about trusting in love and escaping the “safe” environment that has been stunting your growth.” He sums the track up by stating; “leaving behind everything that has been holding you back in life”.
The video below completes a four-part narrative. Preceded by ‘Something In The Dark,’ ‘Dead Roses,’ and ‘Hell Is Gonna Happen’, its tale explores the journey of “Blue” and her experiences of alienation, exploration, self-love and fulfilment.
‘Fire In Heaven’ is released this Friday (February 14th) through Venn Records.
