Song Premiere: Taco Hell – Shadow

This Friday, Nottingham DIY emo punks Taco Hell will be farewell with the release of their first and only full-length. ‘Bad at Being Average’ follows two EP’s and a hometown live record, all of which have been delivered in just two years. The album sees the quartet offer a mix of minute-long punk songs, melodic emo anthems and everything in between, as they take on themes such as sexism, student housing and their mutual love of Twin Peaks.

Before one of its members moves halfway around the world in the new year, Taco Hell has teamed up with Already Heard to premiere a song from ‘Bad at Being Average’ ahead of its release this Friday. ‘Shadow’ is a two-minute jangly, energetic blast of melodic punk that sees bassist Eleanor Parkinson take over lead vocals.

“It’s one of our collective favourites, it’s short and fun to play live,” Taco Hell tell us. “It’s about being frustrated at somebody telling you you’re in the wrong, when you weren’t.”

‘Bad at Being Average’ by Taco Hell is released on 15th December via Bandcamp.
