The Scratch Preview New Album with ‘Pullin’ Teeth’
Irish quartet The Scratch have released a track called ‘Pullin’ Teeth’. It is the second song lifted from their upcoming third album, ‘Pull Like a Dog’.
Written while out on a North American tour, they aimed to have the song complete while out on the same run. “To be able to write a song that quickly and for it to feel that good kickstarted everything,” says guitarist Conor Dockery. “We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel on this album—it’s about taking the pressure off, reinterpreting ideas, and not overthinking things. It was very freeing for us.”
‘Pull Like A Dog’ is set for release on March 13th via Sony Music Ireland / Music For Nations.
Architects Premier ‘Broken Mirror’ Music Video
Ahead of European shows, Architects have revealed a music video for ‘Broken Mirror’.
The track appears on last year’s ‘The Sky, The Earth & All Between’ album. The video’s narrative follows vocalist Sam Carter as he undergoes brutal militia-style training, building toward a tense and visceral firefight that mirrors the song’s emotional intensity.
Sugar Release New Single (‘Long Live Love’)
Having reformed last October, 90s alt-rockers Sugar have shared ‘Long Live Love’. It follows ‘House of Dead Memories’ with both tracks to set to be released on 7″ vinyl on May 1st via BMG.
Commenting on the track, frontman Bob Mould shared, “I wrote ‘Long Live Love’ in 2007 while living in Washington DC. It was the George W. Bush era, I was deep in my DJ world with Blowoff, yet still writing pop songs on guitars. Garbage 2.0 is one of my desert island albums, so it’s not surprising that ‘Long Live Love’ reminds me of a long lost Garbage song!”
Death Lens Set to Release New Album in April
SoCal punk band, Death Lens, have confirmed their new album, ‘What’s Left Now?’, will be released on April 24th via Epitaph Records.
Produced by Zach Tuch (Knocked Loose, Touché Amoré, Movements), the album promises to be “a fist-pumping punk-rock escape, and a hard dose of reality.”
In addition to the new single, ‘Monolith,’ ‘What’s Left Now?’ will also feature the previously released ‘Power’.
Knumears Reveal New Album Plans
Having recently joined Run For Cover Records, up-and-coming screamo trio Knumears have shared details of their new album. It’s titled ‘Directions’ and will be released on April 3rd.
Described as a “screamo tour de force,” the trio have shared a track called ‘Fade Away.’ It features guest vocals from Jeff Smith of skramz legends, Jeromes Dream.
Hear The Gloom In The Corner’s New Single (‘Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)’)
Ahead of its February 27th release, theatrical metalcore The Gloom In The Corner has shared another track from ‘Royal Discordance’. ‘Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)’ is an intense and dynamic offering from the Melbourne group with lyrical pop culture references throughout.
“Nope is the ode to some of our favourite action movies and video games growing up,” the band shares of their latest single. “A bullet ballet for metalcore that will – much like the definition of “Hollow-Point Elysium” – blow your head smooth off.”
Chroma Announce New Album (’25 Forever’)
Welsh trio Chroma have set a release date of April 17th for their second album. It’s called ’25 Forever’ and will be released through Alcopop Records.
“’25 Forever’ is a collection of songs navigating themes of love, loss, heartbreak, friendships and resilience—it reflects on coming of age in a turbulent time for the world, looking inward, and finding yourself when things seem bleak,” shares vocalist KT Hall.
The album’s lead single, ‘Straight Men’, has also been released and sees Chroma asking men to have a word with other men about their behaviour. “I’m taking about sexual harassment. I’m talking about intimidation,” Hall explains, “I’m talking about the ‘manosphere’ and how young men today are being radicalised by influencers such as Andrew Tate. I’m talking about the crisis of violence against women and young girls in the UK and the world.”
The release of ’25 Forever’ will coincide with a UK tour in April. It’ll consist of dates in Cardiff (April 16th), Leeds (17th), Manchester (18th), London (22nd), and Southampton (23rd).
The S.E.T. Share First Single and Announce Debut EP
Hardcore newcomers The S.E.T. have released their debut single, and shared plans to release their first EP. The track, ‘TMT’, will feature on the ‘Self Evident Truth’ EP when it’s released on March 6th through Flatspot Records
Based out of Baltimore, Maryland, the band consists of bassist Che Figueroa (founder of Flatspot Records), guitarist Brady Ebert (formerly of Turnstile), drummer Ryan Fauver (formerly of End It), and vocalist Tim,
