Muse Detail New Album (‘The Wow! Signal’)

Muse have revealed details of their 10th album. ‘The Wow! Signal’, due 26th June via Warner, was announced in a truly out-of-this-world manner. Teaming up with Sent Into Space, the band sent a specially designed tablet 33km into the atmosphere.

It let to the video for their new single, ‘Be With You,’ being premiered. Opening with a humming church organ and Matt Bellamy’s towering voice, it soon introduces pulsating electronica, leading to euphoric stadium rock that we’ve come to expect from Muse.

Lyrically, the track hints at some of ‘The Wow! Signal’s themes; cosmic mystery, existential hope, and the invigorating possibility of contact with something far greater than ourselves.

Sleeping With Sirens Return with ‘An Ending In Itself’

Sleeping With Sirens are back. The Los Angeles outfit have shared new single ‘An Ending In Itself’, produced by Will Yip (Turnstile, Circa Survive, Movements), marking their first release since returning to Rise Records.

With frontman Kellin Quinn distinct vocals, it’s paired by twisting guitars from Nick Martin, and the new addition, Tony Pizzuti. Along with Justin Hills (bass) and Matty Best (drums), the quintet return with a sharp, energetic track.

However, as Kellin explains, it’s lyrically rooted in dealing with mental health struggles, and encouraging to have open discussions.

“This song is a love letter to anyone in the midst of struggle. I think we live in an age where we’re supposed to pretend like we have it ‘all together all of the time’ so much so that we’re afraid to let anyone in,” says Quinn. “I think it’s important to have open dialogue and to ask for help when we need it. This song is about being brave enough to admit that we’re not always okay. No matter what you’re going through, there is hope.”

UK metallers Cage Fight are gearing up to release their second album, Exuvia,’ on May 1st via Spinefarm. To get fans ready, they’ve unleashed a new single called ‘Pick Your Fighter’. It sees Julien Truchan of Benighted accompany Rachel Aspe’s powerful vocals.

“We wanted to write a fun, sing-along party song with themes of determination and fighting spirit, and the result is ‘Pick Your Fighter’. I also wanted to pay tribute to a French artist who marked my teenage years, and my dad suggested Nâdiya, an R&B singer who is huge back home,” Aspe explains as Cage Fight prepare to kick off a UK tour alongside Employed To Serve. “Musical and lyrical motifs in ‘Pick Your Fighter’ nod to Nâdiya’s hit ‘Et C’est Parti’, a motivational party song that was a huge hit. The crowning touch is some very heavy guest vocals from my French friend Julien Truchan of the band Benighted. And there are pig squeals, many pig squeals!”

Furthermore, the track’s music video takes form in an 8-bit beat ’em up-style. The video was created in collaboration with Enemy of Boredom Academy, an organisation supporting neurodivergent young people in becoming media professionals.

New LoveLost Single Released

Emerging South West alt-rock outfit LoveLost have returned with a track called ‘Don’t Set Yourself On Fire (Just To Keep Someone Else Warm)’.

Having previously left an impression with their 2024 EP, ‘Collapse,’ they have now reconvened to begin a new chapter. ‘Don’t Set Yourself On Fire…’ maintains the soaring emo melodies and pairs them with explosive instrumentation. Additionally, the track sees an observant Tobias Faulkner explore the topic of people using others for their own benefit.

“‘Don’t Set Yourself On Fire (Just To Keep Someone Else Warm)’ is a song written about watching people taking the best of someone to their detriment. Seeing people leech them of their kindness and love, taking all they have to offer with no intention of giving anything back,” Faulkner states. “It’s something that’s happened to everyone, we’ve all experienced it happening to ourselves or someone we love, and it’s a reminder to not let people walk all over you. To allow yourself to have the boundaries and respect for yourself to say no, and to leave some of yourself for you to love and enjoy, because we all deserve that.”
