Loathe Announce New Album (‘A Stranger To You’)

After a six-year wait, Loathe have finally announced details of their new album. ‘A Stranger To You’ will be released on July 17th via SharpTone Records.

Described as the band’s “most sonically adventurous work to date,” Loathe’s third album sees them expand their palette with uses of psychedelia, “unique percussive patterns,” and an approach to sound design that ses the contemportary metallers apart.

It will consist of 14 tracks, including their new single, ‘Revenant’. For it, the Liverpudlian group collaborated with NOWHERE2RUN, the new project from former Code Orange members Jami Morgan and Eric “Shade” Balderose. Together, they produce a hypnotic and disorienting number with a heavy use of distorted electronica. ‘A Stranger To You’ will also feature last year’s single, ‘Gifted Every Strength’.

August Burns Red Teams Up with Polaris’ Jamie Hails on ‘Sonic Salvation’

Having announced plans to release a new album, ‘Season of Surrender,’ (Fearless Records) on June 5th, August Burns Red have shared its latest preview. It sees the metalcore greats team up with Polaris vocalist Jamie Hails on a track called ‘Sonic Salvation’.

Together, the track serves as a message to the frustrated and disaffected. Elevated by its pit-stirring breakdown, it’s a fierce showcase of ABR‘s heaviness, with Hails’ vocals being the cherry on top.

“‘Sonic Salvation’ was the first song I wrote for ‘Season of Surrender,” says guitarist JB Brubaker. “I set out to write a song that created more space for Jake (Luhrs) vocally and leaned a little more into our hardcore influences. I love how this song came out, and Jamie’s guest vocal really takes it over the top for me.”

August Burns Red‘s vocalist Jake Luhrs also commented on the track, adding “”‘Sonic Salvation’ is about finding power and strength in music. The fact that music can bring us back to a memory, help us decompress from the outside world and how music is what has created our world that is the metal scene.”
