Eulogy are a UK metalcore quartet hailing from Ash Vale (it’s in Surrey, alright?), and their main priority is to cause your eardrums some bother with blistering blast-beats and unceasing razor-sharp riffs.
If you think of Converge you’re in the right ballpark, although these guys are rather more structured and less unpredictable. They don’t have quite the imagination and impact of their esteemed peers, but still offer plenty to get excited about.
‘Deaf Cult’ showcases the band’s bloodcurdling vocals and their creative riffs which are so audacious they have a real epic quality to them. Meanwhile, the wonderfully titled ‘Birth Coma’ has helter-skelter drumming patterns which will leave you dizzy.
They do have a few weaknesses in terms of lyrical delivery (they don’t stick with you), and in terms of the structural progression of their tracks occasionally allowing your attention to wander. But overall, this is nevertheless a totally worthwhile EP for metal and hardcore fans alike.
