With the release of their debut album, ‘A Call To the Void’, fast approaching, Hot Milk have shared a fourth single from the record. ‘Breathing Underwater’ sees the duo swap their self-assured sound for a more emotional and vulnerable side.
“It’s like when you break your own heart. To feel like you’re drowning, gasping for air, frustrated and alone,” explained Hot Milk co-vocalist Han Mee. “This song embodies the emotion and spirit of our current headspace, and we feel it may be the most important song we’ve ever pulled from the universe. This is Hot Milk’s true heart. Hot Milk is an emotion.”
With its stirring strings, effortless key changes, and balladic tone, ‘Breathing Underwater’ allows Hot Milk to show their dynamic range beyond the brash alt-pop-rock as showcased on ‘Bloodstream’ and ‘Party on My Deathbed’.
‘A Call To The Void’ is released on August 25th through Music For Nations.
Where can I see Hot Milk in the UK?
This month Hot Milk will be doing a range of acoustic performances and in-store signings, as well as appearing at the Reading and Leeds Festival.
They will follow it up with a UK headline tour in November. Support comes from Witch Fever and Modern Error.
They will also be opening for Foo Fighters at two of their UK stadium shows next June.
