Former Gallows gutiarist Steph Carter has returned with a new band called The Ghost Riders In The Sky. They have released a new single called ‘Wastelands’ ahead of an album which is set to be released in October.

The group sees Carter sharing songwriting duties with guitarist/vocalist Paul Taylor and vocalist Gillian Carter. Whilst the band also includes Steph’s younger brother, Richard Carter of Blackhole fame as the band’s third guitarist along with bassist Jason Green and drummer Kris Banks.

As you can hear from ‘Wastelands’ below, The Ghost Riders In The Sky sees the sextet blend Americana rock with a
British indie side.

Steph Carter had this to say about the band:

“When I was writing ‘Grey Britain’ a lot of these early Ghost Riders ideas came together. I was looking for a new songwriting avenue, something I could use to show what came naturally when I played guitar. Influences come through everywhere! The old Americana sounds of Johnny Cash and Elvis, through to the English driving force of Pink Floyd.“
