Post-rock outfit Maybeshewill and post-metal group Bossk will be touring the UK in May 2024.
With both UK bands having been leaders of their respective genres for years, it’s sure to be a run of outstanding shows. The combination of Maybeshewill‘s towering, cinematic post-rock instrumentation, and Bossk‘s mountain-sized riffs, makes for an exciting prospect.
“This tour feels like it’s been a long time coming, really. Bossk were a band we were conscious of in the very earliest days of Maybeshewill – doing something really different and exciting in another little pocket of the music scene, somewhere else in the country,” commented Maybeshewill. “It’s been a real treat to cross paths with them so regularly in recent years, and as both bands edge towards two decades of making music, there’s some nice symmetry to finally touring with them in 2024. We can’t wait for these shows – not least because it gives us an opportunity to return to some cities we haven’t played headline shows in for a really long time.”
Post-metal riff merchants Bossk are equally hyped for the five-date tour while hinting at a new album.
“When thinking about and planning our touring schedule for 2024 around the next release, we couldn’t have really found a better solution. MSW and Bossk have existed in a similar universe since both bands began, and we are two of very few bands that remain active from the mid-2000s era of UK bands trying to do something different. The world in which both our bands started in is now very different, in some ways better, and the kind of music we both play has grown in popularity in general. But we come from the same pre-YouTube/social media internet days of being a band,” said the band.
“To play these shows together is a great thing to us – we have a very important new record being released in 2024 that is essentially a homage and tribute to the early years of us being a band, and to where the band is now. We have plans to add in songs we haven’t played live yet, and will be performing something from this next release for the first time. This is a tour you don’t want to miss – MSW are one of the best live bands the UK has ever produced, and their last album is an incredibly diverse and interesting album that shows that they really are the UK post-rock kings.”
