Sheffield trio Air Drawn Dagger will be giving last year’s ‘Songs To Fight The Gods To’ EP the reimagining treatment on May 24th.
It will consist of five reworked tracks from the EP that was released last autumn, including the band’s latest single – ‘GhostsGhostsGhosts (Phantoms)’.
The stripped-back version takes an acoustic-heavy approach, allowing Maisie Manterfield’s vocals to truly shine.
“The original EP incorporates big guitar riffs, Hip Hop beats, synths and more. So now we get to explore the opposite elements and explore acoustic guitars, raw vocals, and string arrangements to breathe new life into these songs,” explains Maisie. “We all love acoustic, folk, and traditional music, so getting to explore those vibes has been a really fun challenge for us. Releasing these acoustic singles allows us to showcase what we are capable of as artists and hopefully people can connect with the tracks in new ways.”
‘GhostsGhostsGhosts (Phantoms)’ joins the previously released reworked versions of ‘You Should Have Known Better’ and EP highlight, ‘Stigmata’. Collectively, the tracks are a contrast to the urgency shown on their original counterparts yet highlight Air Drawn Dagger ‘s songwriting.
1. You Should Have Known Better
2. Title Fight
3. GhostsGhostsGhosts (Phantoms)
4. Stigmata
5. The Collapse of Mount Plethora
