Sheffield trio Air Drawn Dagger made their return last month with a track called ‘Castle’. Today, the angsty emo-pop three-piece have shared details of their debut album. It’s called ‘A Guide For Apparitions’ and will be released on 4th April via Long Branch Records.

The record promises to take listeners “haunted tales and cosmic chaos, conjuring imagery from Witch Trials to ghost lore.” The band expanded on this by sharing “‘A Guide For Apparitions’ brings multiple meanings. The record can be a Grimoire if you’re being haunted, or a guide if you are the one confined to a realm you don’t belong.”

Produced by Neil Kennedy (Creeper, Boston Manor), it will see Air Drawn Dagger fuse macabre mysticism with multi-genre-infused rock. You can hear an example of this on their new single – ‘Apparitions’.

With an effective hook of “we’re so lost, we don’t want to be found,” ‘Apparitions’ is an energetic and punchy number that serves as a great teaser for Air Drawn Dagger‘s debut full-length. It also sees guest vocals from Tobi Duncan of Trash Boat.

Commenting on the track, the band said “A return to big guitar riffs, it’s time to take accountability for the mess we’re in or accept our fate. On the other side of this song is an element of the hurt, and sometimes anger, you feel once you realise you’ve outgrown areas of your life and belief systems you held onto for so long. Relish in letting go of what no longer serves you, they’ll have to cross realms if they want to reach you.”

On the inclusion of Trash Boat vocalist Tobi Duncan, Air Drawn Dagger explained “we knew this breakdown was the heaviest point of the album, the fight scene, the crescendo; and required an extra element to complete this track.”
