On November 8th, State Champs will return with a self-titled album through Pure Noise Records.
The New York state quartet worked with producer Anton DeLost (Mayday Parade, Hawthorne Heights) on the 12-track collection. Amongst them are ‘Silver Cloud’ and ‘Too Late To Say’, both of which can be heard below. Showcasing a familiar, energetic pop-punk sound, the former thrives with a punchy chorus. While the latter highlights State Champs‘ ability to provide soaring hooks.
Commenting on the album and the reason for its eponymous title, vocalist Derek DiScanio said “We found our way, through the ups and downs within us, personally and as a band, and wanted to express that. This is the right time to showcase it.”
Bassist Ryan Scott Graham shares the sentiment, adding “When we stepped back and looked at the songs, sonically and thematically, it’s a great vision of who we are. Every era of State Champs exists within this record.”
