With just over a month until to the release of their second album, ‘Bambi’, Connecticut emo punks Anxious has given fans another preview with ‘Some Girls’.
Following on from ‘Counting Sheep’ and ‘Head & Spine’, ‘Some Girls’ showcases Anxious‘ sugar-rush brand of emo rock with a warming tone, driving pace, and punchy, harmonious chorus. Leaning into several influences such as Jimmy Eat World, Third Eye Blind, The Smashing Pumpkins, and The Beach Boys, it’s another irresistible preview from ‘Bambi’.
‘Bambi’ understandably marks a new chapter for the quintet. As documented in a new interview with Stereogum, 2023 saw Anxious at a crossroads as vocalist Grady Allen questioned the band’s future. Nevertheless, after some long and loving conversations, Anxious has continued and will be releasing ‘Bambi’ on February 21st via Run For Cover Records.
