Last month, AFI revealed plans to release their twelfth studio album, ‘Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…’ on October 3rd through Run For Cover Records. Today, the quartet shared its second single, ‘Holy Visions’.

The track firmly leans into the reverb-laden guitar lines and 80s-inflected hook-filled choruses that the record promises to deliver in abundance. With its thick new wave core, it captures singer Davey Havok searching for a spiritual entry to a mystical realm, with religious connotations and symbolism (rosary beads and prayer). Although it’s lyrically bleak, Jade Puget’s neon guitars provide a glimmer of light to Havok’s shadowy words.

‘Holy Visions” video sees AFI once again working with director Gilbert Trejo. Bathed in pink and blue light, the video captures the hazy, hypnotic nature of the track.
