Album Review: Forever After – Picture EP

Considering Forever After have only been together since the start of the year and are a new band I expect to hear the best of what the band have produced.

First up is ‘Touring The Map’ which is a full on pop punk riff filled song with dual vocals bouncing and at times mixing together quite well. It’s a good start to the EP and gives you a full on idea of what the rest of the EP will sound like.

Starting off with some light guitar riffs, leading into some punk style riffs ‘(Old) School’ is one of the EP’s catchiest songs. The lyrics are about personal problems in life and you can tell this song is an easy song for people to sing and dance along to.

Third song in and I was surprised to see what was next for such a short first EP, an Interlude aptly named ‘Interlude’. It is a nice little instrumental and a break away from the pop punk riffs but in my opinion save the interludes for a full album release.

Finishing off with ‘Say It True’ the pace picks back up with the riffs and fast picking lead harmony mixing with both sets of vocals it finishes the EP off well.

Overall the EP is a good little taster as to what the band is about but the music doesn’t stand out too much and what they’re doing is nothing exciting or new. But there is plenty of room for improvement and growth and with the right songs, determination and plenty of shows they could have a bright future.

2/5
