‘Moving Forward Over the Next Financial Quarter’ is the first of 3 EPs set to be released by Bristol based band, Hello Lazarus. The 4 track EP is jam packed with addictive rock songs, whilst also getting the sound of a band who have already achieved big things without having released a full length album.
The band have just released the video for opener, ‘When In Rome;’ it’s a track with depth and it gradually builds momentum through echoing vocals, hard hitting drums and vicious guitars. It almost sounds like the lovechild of Deftones and Brand New, and that alone speaks volumes.
Second track, ‘Get An Axe’ holds a similar effect; the catchy choruses and gang vocals and the woah-ohs don’t go amiss and make you wish you were in a venue watching them live right there and then.
Track 3, ‘Stallions’ shows the slower and more chilled vibe to the EP; however, it still maintains the sense of atmosphere you get listening to the EP whilst closing track ‘I Am No Explorer’ and in my opinion, my favourite from the EP, again has an insanely addictive chorus.
Hello Lazarus are a band you do not want to miss in 2013; if the other two EP’s they release this year are anything like this, then I for one am extremely excited to hear them.
