Having been compared to everyone from Saves The Day to Brand New to Joyce Manor to Alkaline Trio, Long Island’s State Lines have a tricky task about establishing their own sound on this self-titled 7". However its safe to say they make exceptional use of all those comparisons and more to create a four songs that have plenty of life in them.

Coming in at 11 minutes long, the 7" begins with ‘5’s On The Elephant’ and neat dual vocal work from Jonathan Dimitri and Tom Werring. Whilst the 90’s emo-like guitars fit the bands sound perfectly, even more so on ‘Plenty Of Time’ as they play off the bands pounding drums perfectly.

Whilst ‘Cave In’ takes the lo-fi pop punk route that wouldn’t sound out of place on Brand New’s ‘Your Favourite Weapon.’ Whereas ‘Win Free’ is a thriving closer that brings all the bands influences and comparisons into one; aching vocals, tight drumming and a suitable hook. 

‘State Lines’ is short and straight to the point but it’s more than likely you’ll be hitting the repeat button instantly. It’s that good! Sure the production isn’t perfect and at times the comparisons are somewhat obvious, but nevertheless fans of all those bands mentioned earlier and more will definitely enjoy State Lines.
